More stocking up.  Squash this time.  I bought one spaghetti squash.  We'd been looking for them.  Then, I went back and bought a second one.  You never know if this'll be the only weekyou see something

Also, we discovered the tender delicate delectableness that is Nonna's (handmade, fresh) Noodles.  We tried the lemon fettucini and tossed it with a cream, pea, and shallot sauce.

The acquiring of winter rations has begun in ernest.  To add to our frozen stores, this week we acquired extra lamb chops, dried beans, and cases of wine.  We also got bulbs for the early spring.

We also discovered a new delight.  Let us tell you how wonderful grilled fig and brie sandwiches are.  Wait, it can't be described.  You'll just have to try them with us next fall.

I bought our first romanesco cauliflower this week.  It's that crazy bright green fractal looking vegetable that's front and center in the picture.  There was a little girl at the farmer's market who told me that it looked like a Christmas tree.

I also bought our first quince this week.  However, I failed to find out that you have to cook quince before it is palatable.  Silent partner ate it anyway.
